5.9.2 The Starting State
Resource adaptor entities that are recorded in the management database as being in the activated state are activated. SBB entities
are not created in this state. The Rhino SLEE transitions from this state when either all startup tasks are complete, which causes
a transition to the Running state, or when some startup task fails, which causes a transition to the Stopping state.
• Starting to Running: The Rhino SLEE event router is started.
• Starting to Stopping: The Rhino SLEE has no operations to execute.
5.9.3 The Running State
Activated resource adaptor entities are able to fire events. The Rhino SLEE event router is instantiating SBB entities and
delivering events to them as required.
• Running to Stopping: The Rhino SLEE has no operations to execute.
5.9.4 The Stopping State
This state is identical to the Running state except new Activity objects are not accepted from resource adaptor entities or created
by the SLEE. Existing Activity objects are allowed to end (according to the resource adaptor specification). The Rhino SLEE
transitions out of this state when all Activity objects have ended. If this state is reached from the Starting state, there will be no
existing Activity objects and transition to the Stopped state occurs effectively immediately.
• Stopping to Stopped: Any resource adaptor entities that were active are deactivated so they do not produce any further
events. The database state for the resource adaptor entity is not modified. If the Rhino SLEE event router had been
started, it is stopped.
